Preschool Theology Class

If you would have been in our van today, you would have heard a conversation that went something like this...

Philip: God lives up in the trees.

Bekah: No, Philip, he lives in the sky.

Philip: Mom, where does God go potty?

Mommy: God doesn't go potty. God is a spirit.

Bekah: Mom, did the people in the bible go potty?

Mommy: Yes, they did, but they are dead now.

Bekah: They're dead?

Philip: I don't want to die. Ever.

Bekah: So, the people in the bible are spirits now, and they don't go potty?

Mommy: Right.

Bekah: I thought you said that if you knew Jesus, you wouldn't die.

Mommy: Your body dies, but your soul doesn't. Your soul, or spirit, goes on to live with Jesus.

Philip: Mommy, don't put me into a casket. I don't want to die.

Mommy: If you know Jesus, your soul will go to heaven and it won't die.

Bekah: But our bodies will die?

Philip: I don't want to die.

Mommy: You aren't going to die for a long time.

Bekah: I don't understand about our souls.

Mommy: It's kind of hard to understand when you are little.

Bekah: Will we be with the bible people in heaven when we die?

Mommy: If you know Jesus, you will go to heaven with the bible people.

Bekah: What does it mean to know Jesus?

Mommy: It means that you ask Jesus to save you from your sins and be good.

Bekah: Oh, I did that. I'm already a christian.

Philip: I bowed to the idol last night.

Bekah: You did not.

Philip: No, I guess not.

Bekah: Philip, you aren't good sometimes. You need to ask Jesus to forgive you.

Philip: God, I'm sorry. There, I did it, mommy! I asked Jesus to forgive me! :)

But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 19:14
