My children are sick... or so they say. Abby has had a sore throat and fever and is, perhaps, the only one of them that is truly sick. However, Bekah has been complaining that her "neck" hurts (another way of saying her throat) and Philip said he has a canker sore on his foot. Just yesterday, they were having this conversation:
Bekah: "Mommy, I am sicker than my brother"
Philip: "No, I am sicker"
Bekah: "You aren't even sick! My neck hurts."
Philip: "I'm sick too! I have a cold."
Bekah: "No, only Abby and me are sick. You aren't sick. My neck hurts so bad."
Mommy: "If you are sick enough to argue then you aren't very sick."
Bekah: "MOMMY, I am too sick. My neck hurts very bad."
Rebekah is so sick that she can't eat food... she couldn't eat her toast yesterday morning because of her "neck", but not sick enough that she can't eat candy. Hmm...
