I am amazed...

That someone who can sleep through an alarm for an hour (me) wakes instantly upon the sound of retching in the night. I am further amazed at the volume of barf that can come out of a 5 year old child, and continue to be amazed at the length of time the same child can continue "dry heaving" without collapsing into a coma. I am amazed that I have become willing to stay up all night with a sick child and find myself wishing that it were me instead of her. I am amazed that God gives grace when we don't feel we can go on, even as a little four year old announces, "Mommy, I went diarrhea in my pants on accident".
Amazing... what being a mommy will do to you.
