A New Year!

Blessings to you all at the start of this new year!

Some things I am hoping to accomplish this year:
-Work through the book "How to Have Kids with Character - Even if Your Kids are Characters" by Nadine Brown. We started yesterday with chapter 1, the character trait for the month is perseverance. I'd encourage anyone with children to get this book, it is excellent!
-Finish Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University
-Re-read "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist" by Norm Geisler and Frank Turek. Another EXCELLENT book that I can't recommend enough. :) Just ask my hubby, he gets tired of me talking about it.
-Read "Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage" by John Coblentz
-Read "Christian Family Living" by John Coblentz
-Re-read "1000 Gifts" by Ann Voskamp. I gave away some copies of this for Christmas, I read it but want to read it again and soak it up. She has a style that I had a hard time "getting" at first, but is quite poetic. I think I'll enjoy it more the second time through.
-I actually want to read at least one book a month this year, I just haven't decided what other books I'd like to read. Any suggestions?
-I have several house projects that I can do without Andrew's help. I'd like to paint the bathroom cupboard that has been naked for months, repaint the hallway, paint the bathroom doors, etc. Lots of fun stuff... I need to make a list and a plan to make it happen.

What are your goals for the new year?

Lose weight, learn how to swim, drink more water, etc., etc., I could go on but won't. :)

Learn how to swim? Interesting. I wish that's something we learned when we were younger. I'm not interested in learning now, but I wish I knew how. I have nightmares of having to rescue my kids from water and not being able to... maybe I'd learn how to swim very quickly, I don't know. :)

Yeah, I really think if I had to I could swim...I can float, doggie paddle, just am not in the water enough I guess. I wish Dad would have made us learn. :)

Get in the best shape of my life to glorify God, make my husband proud and have my children see that I love them enough to unselfishly make the changes necessary to change.

I love my gift from you of "one thousand gifts", taking on the challenge to write down 1000 things I am grateful for in 2012; of course, the diet; reading my Bible through...I am through Genesis, start Exodus today and reading in Matthew at present; love life & God more; let others "bug" me less & always love my hubby and family as much as possible...love you, Raylin!
